About the Merchants Association

Welcome to the Lower Mills Merchants Association website. Since the eighties, we have been an organization of committed local merchants coming together with a single vision: enhance the quality of life offered in our neighborhoods by uniting, stimulating, and supporting the professional community of Lower Mills.

Picturesque and historic, nestled into the crook of the Neponset River, Lower Mills encompasses the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Mattapan and Milton Massachusetts and was home for decades to the famous Walter Baker Chocolate Factory.

From the sleepy blue collar communities of years past Lower Mills has emerged into one of the new sought after places to live, work and play. LMMA, is proud to boast that with our efforts we have had a hand in that change.

Join us! Come to one of our meetings. Meet the dynamic people who have worked and made a difference in this diverse and flourishing community. Check out our What We Do page to see our various committees, drives, events and causes.
